Under-insured Motorist (UIM) & Uninsured Motorist (UM) Insurance Coverage

Everyone that carries automobile insurance coverage should review their policy to make sure that their UIM & UM coverages are at the same level of coverage as their liability coverage.

If you have over the Kentucky required minimum liability coverage of $25,000, then you should make sure that your UIM & UM coverage was increased to match your liability coverage. The UIM & UM coverages are the only portion of your automobile insurance which will pay you for damages when the person that caused the accident does not have adequate insurance coverage, or no coverage at all. Most people that are involved in their first automobile accident are surprised how quickly an injury will exceed the mandatory $25,000 minimum insurance coverage that many drivers carry. I consider the best value of an automobile insurance policy is the coverage that the policyholder carries on themselves through the UIM & UM portion of the policy.
